Inside the Author's Studio - Bernard Pivot Blogfest

Today is Nicole Ducleoir's Bernard Pivot Blogfest.  These are the questions James Lipton asks the actors he interviews for Inside the Actors Studio.  I signed up because whenever I watch that show, I always have my answers in my head when the actor goes over them.  It's fun to fantasize about me and James Lipton...I mean, in an interview of course.

  • What is your favorite word?

  • Sporadically

  • What is your least favorite word?

  • Moist (OMG, I can barely write this word because I have to say it in my head...*shudder*)

  • What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

  •  When I'm reading a book and I hit a point where I know this is going on my top list of favorite books.  I want to read it any waking hour I have.  Also, writing an awesome scene in my own book gives me hot flashes.

  • What turns you off?

  • Bad teeth and too much sarcasm

  • What is your favorite curse word?

  • Fuuuuu....dge (real drawn out because I realize I'm in front of my daughter half way through)(picture Christmas Story when he drops the screws)

  • What sound or noise do you love?

  • My daughter's genuine belly laugh

  • What sound or noise do you hate?

  • My daughter's genuine crying as well as her fake crying.  Hate those for different reasons.

  • What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

  • Well since I'm not a real full time author yet: author

  • What profession would you not like to do?

  • Accounting (I can't imagine actually having to do math for a living.  That would be my version of hell)

  • If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

  • I'm going to answer all those unsolved mysteries that the world has been wondering about, and yes, aliens do exist.

  • I'd love to hear your answers on some of these!

Hop on over to her blog to see who else signed up and what they have to say!

I also love the sound of my children's laughter and hate the sound of their crying. Such is the lot of a mother!

Every time I hear the word "sporadically," I think of Clueless. Is that strange? And I love your curse word. :)

Wow...our answers are really similar! I've seen moist listed several times today. ??? :)

Guys let me just say, I shudder at having to say that word. Like Candace I could barely type it, but I did for the good of the blogfest.

And Meredith- Sporadically is my favorite word since I heard it on Clueless ;p

Sorry, but I don't get what all this has to do with anything.

LOL -- love your answers! Especially FUUU...dge. Too funny! And yes. Aliens do exist. How can all that space only contain one planet that sustains intelligent life? Just logical.

Thanks so much for playing along!!

I agree with the "M" word. Never good...except maybe for cake. :) Aliens totally exist! And a full-time author is my job of choice for sure. Happy Wednesday to you!

I could have sworn your favorite word was "but"... Moist IS a terrible word. I love that you shuddered in your head because you had to type it. This was fun. I love learning new, random, fun things about you!

I have a friend who became obsessed with the word "abomination" and would use it continually stretching it out like a Baptist preacher at a revial. Abomination became an abomination to me not too long after that!

    Love your answers, Roland

Haha! I never really noticed a problem with moist. And now that I say that, I'm seeing how lame it is.....

Accounting WOULD be the worst job EVER. I loathe math. Seriously. Hate is way too nice a word for my feeling on mathematics.

Oh no! I hope you don't hate my main character! She is pretty sarcastic.... *awkward shuffle!*

I just don't get how many people don't like the word moist.
    Is it an accent thing?
Or a cultural thing that has gone over this Aussie's head?

Loved the post, and thanks for joining me, Abby.

bwahahahaha... I hate, or should I say that I utterly LOATHE the word "moist"! I always think of that VH1 special where they're talking about saying it. The only time it is acceptable is talking about cake. :)

    J.L. Campbell said...

Making numbers behave for a living would be the death of me. You're probably the fifth blogger I've come across who hates the word moist.

    alexia said...

Good answers! I like the S-word and the F-word too, though the M-word doesn't bother me that much :)

    Unknown said...

One of the first words that came to mind when I read that Least Fav Word one was also moist! He, he, he. And I had a friend at varsity who used to say fudge as her curse word all the time!

    Lisa Galek said...

Cute! I hate it when the babies cry, too! And I had a friend who hated the word "moist" with a passion, too. It always makes me think of cake... and other things to I suppose...

Until this infernal Blogfest came along, I never, ever knew that ANYBODY disliked the word 'moist'! Now I'm really worried. What the heck is it that I must've been missing all this time for so many of you to dislike the word?
