Word Count Wednesday!

Can't believe it's Wednesday again!  My word count for NaNo so far is 9,124.  So that brings me to 88,789 words total for my novel.

I didn't get as far as I wanted to in a week, but I have a great excuse- it was my nephew's 1st birthday this weekend and we had to travel a couple hours away and spend some much needed time with him (and my sister and brother-in-law, but seriously...who cares about them when there is the cutest little boy smacking you and head-butting you while you try to take pictures with him?)

BUT- I did get a butt load written today.  I think around 4,000 words?  I was on a roll!

Anyway, I know some of you overachievers are already finished with NaNo. *cough cough* Jen Daiker *cough cough* Melissa Wideen *cough cough*

And some of us, are a little slower *cough* me.  But that's okay.  We all have our own writing pace.

I do want to say congratulations to my crit partner Andy Thompson for plugging away at NaNo.  I am so proud of him- he's been keeping up his daily word count goal since the beginning of November.  This is huge for him since he had kind of been in a writing slump, and I think his wife (the fabulous GreenBeanTeenQueen) and I were starting to sound like broken records- "you need to write!"  "dude, stop watching Project Runway and write!" "I don't care if your new puppy Zedd is totally cute, you need to write!".  So yeah, pretty awesome.

Tell me your word count!  I know lots of you have so much done and I love reading your updates!

4,000 words today - that ROCKS! I was at 16,131 last night. Not sure where I am today. Struggling. TMJ is bad and 800mgs ibuprofen isn't making a dent. I'm having trouble focusing. I can write with a migraine but not this pain. Go figure. But I intend to reach my 2,000 word goal by the end of the day!! I'm glad Andy is plugging away as well. Puppies can be VERY distracting. Even big three year old puppies.

Congrats on reaching such an awesome word count today! You should definitely be proud.

I'm not participating in NaNoWriMo, but hope that you are the others continue to fare well.

Okay, so somehow I know *by know, I mean virtually sort-of know* Andy and know *by know, I mean virtually sort-of know* GreenBeanTeenQueen, but never knew they were married. Thanks, Abby, you're full of surprises!!

And anyone who can tell you your puppy is cute, but you need to write, is aces in my book. And I'm a poker player as well as a writer, so aces in my book IS BY FAR A HUGE COMPLIMENT (oops, sorry to shout, got excited).

Oh, and your word count?? Absolutely awesome.

Goodness, Abby! 4,000 WORDS??? I'm totally bowing down to you right now.

I'm doing NaNo and I've gotten 16,000-something words so far. I don't remember the exacts. I'm at the point where writing isn't fun anymore now though, so I have no clue where it's going to go from here. D: *pained*

Anyways, great job so far! I'm so jealous. <3

Project Runway would distract me, too - :) Great job on the writing! Just think - we've got 20 more days to go and we can get a lot done in that amount of time! I'm at about 8500 (a slow start) but, I've got lots of free time this weekend and plan to write, write, write. Oh yeah, and write. Continued luck to us both!

Great job today Abby! Great post and 4000 words is awesome! I wrote 2043 words day which puts me at a total of 18357 so far this month.

Thanks for being a great crit partner and always pushing me to write more and write better. (even if you have to out me on the project runway thing to do it...you know i just watch it so that I can talk with you gals at work, well and Sarah likes it too :))

Zedd has been a distraction but NaNo has really given me a structure that works for this project.

Thanks for all of your support everyone!

Great job everyone on the writing and I can't wait to see everyone's word count next week.

Great job Abby! 88k is a good number. and 9k so far? You should be proud of yourself. I am.

Jen and I were really pushing each other to finish NaNo and quickly. I've been procrastinating and twiddling my thumbs with this book so long that once I pushed away the excuses...I just couldn't stop.

I finished today. It's crazy. I can't believe I'm done. I'm setting the book aside to focus on school now...

My word count today is 2000. My final word count is 60747. (for Nano). And my entire book is just over 90K

I'm only at around 7,000-ish as of last night. Tonight I plan on working on the computer with no internet connection because otherwise I am tempted to check my email every three seconds. I've also been constantly Googling news on Harry Potter and Glee, so yeah, I’m a total procrastinator.

Don't worry about it. Family comes first.
I have about 19000 as of last night and I haven't written a word today. But I shall. :)

Lisa- 7,000 is still wonderful, and yes, I have to kick myself for procrastinating on the internet all the time.

Amanda- thanks. 19,000 is awesome! Great job!
