Redrum...Redrum!

We are on the 4th snow day of SOWPOCALYPSE here, in the beautiful snowy midwest.  The sparkling white snow looks gorgeous in the bright sun while the 3 foot icicles glisten and threaten to stab me in the head.  They were strategically placed right above the steps of our porch.  Thanks a lot, Mother Nature.  I swear that piece of paper flew out my car window by accident.

Meanwhile Little Monster is wheeling her bike around inside with her imaginary friend Tony, writing "redrum" on the bathroom door with lipstick.  Dang, my good lipstick too.

I'm trying to get my ms finished, but all I seem to be able to write anymore is "all work and no play makes Abby a dull girl".  Huh.  Weird.

All I can hear behind me is this creepy little voice going "redrum, redrum, redrum!!"  I swear, that girl has the weirdest imagination.  She's even referring to me as a crazy women from the other room.  Whatever...I'm just trying to get some writing done.

Maybe we should just go and play in the hedge maze outside in the backyard.  No harm in that, right?

Ooh, wait...I forgot my axe.  I'll just go and get it and be right back.

I'd tell you to write a book about this experience, but don't want to get you in trouble with the law, hehe!

Maybe you could take out your frustration on the icicles. Hack at them with a broom handle or something!

Abby is a dull girl - or crazy, one of the two!

Way to creep me out! :) And those icicles are so menacing! But pretty.

This post made me smile so much. :) Don't know if that was the objective, but love it.

I'm afraid that when it gets warmer (tomorrow), all the snow on our roof is going to cover the freshly shoveled walkways and we have to do it all over again.

Oh God, I can't even think about that scene without feeling freaked out! I hope Snowpocalypse ends soon!

Wow!!! I am in Houston dealing with an ice storm and being from Iowa I'm used to this kind of stuff but I moved to get away from the severe cold weather. You make our ice storm look like a baby storm with those icicles!!!

I hope the little one is having fun with Tony (too cute!)

Ha! This was a great read, Abby--I loved how you began with the beauty of the snow before the horror was revealed! Definitely knock down those icicles before the next thaw or else falling daggars they will surely become!

HACK THOSE CICLES before they hurt someone. OR, is that your intention?

WHO'S on your HIT list ABBY? Hmmmmm? Could it be those agents not calling you?

No deadly icicles here, just lots of SNOW>..

Abby, this was scary. ;-) I was just wondering as I looked at your picture (before reading your post) if you get a little cabin feverish during these snow days. The Hubster would drive me up a wall. He can't sit still for even a second so living with snow would not be an option for us. I imagine the first few days are fun, but then it gets old fast. But it's so PRETTY! Those gorgeous icicles are suckering you in with the beauty so they can impale you. ;-)

Bahahaha!! I LOOOVE the new layout!! It's so pretty!!

I agree with Jennie! Cabin fever is setting in girl! Maybe you should stay away from all sharp objects - for the safety of everyone around you. Just saying ;)

Love the new layout/picture/post headers (love that font!)

Those icicles are so perfectly placed, it's not even funny...it's just amusing. Tony is probably out to get you, those icicles couldn't of just appeared there by coincidence. :3

Ooh, Mother Nature strikes again. It's snowing like a madman right now. And then it's supposed to snow MORE on Sunday.

On a more positive note- the icicles are down, due to my daughter using them as canes, pretending she's an old man.

Lipstick on the bathroom door. That might be kind of hard to get off. I wonder if Fantastic would work.

You should write this story down. I have a feeling it would be a tremendous best seller and they'd probably even make a movie out of it.

Just wish I knew why it sounds so familiar. Hmmm.

I'm such an idiot. I read the title of your post as "re-drum" and wondered, is this going to be about some electric drum machine?

TGIF!!!!

Anyway, the post, after I realized what was going on, was excellent and so entertaining!

New follower here.

I feel left out of all this exciting weather--sunny and 65 or so in Los Angeles. Dull!

What an awesome movie that would be to watch during the snowpocalypse!j

The big snow just missed us here in Southern Indiana, but I can't say I'm too disappointed.

Ooh, I love the new look of your blog! I haven't had time to bop around blogland a lot lately but this is really pretty.

Ha, here in NJ, we definitely feel the snow craze too...
